Arta - Formentor
We start this excursion at the impressive Caves of Arta. These are one of the five sets of caves on the island that are open to the public, out of a total of around 200.
These caves are situated in the north – east of the island, and are only 150m above sea-level, with spectacular sea-views. Inside you can find impressive galleries of stalactites and stalagmites, with names like Paradise and Inferno. These can be up to 43m high, with the Queen of the Stalagmites thought to be the highest in the world, reaching 22m. Finally we will watch a spectacular light show, accompanied by the music of Bach, which will take place in the viewing interior section of the caves.
Then we go on to the city of Alcudia, where we will take a walk around the historic centre, with its ruins of the ancient Roman city.
We continue our excursion towards Puerto Pollensa, where we will take a short boat trip to the peninsula of Formentor. We will visit one of the most beautiful places in Mallorca, a small beach called Cala Pi. There, we will have time to swim in the crystal clear waters or to sunbathe on the white sandy beach.
To end this exclusive excursion we offer you the opportunity to visit the famous lighthouse of Formentor. From here you can see spectacular views of the mountains and the sea. It is also possible to see across to the neighbouring island of Menorca, the second largest island in the Balearic Archipelago after Mallorca.
On our way back we will make a final stop at the viewing point of Es Colomer, where you can see the most photographed panorama on the island.
